Minister for Justice Michael McDowell yesterday welcomed the arrest in Holland yesterday of a man gardaí believe is one of the Ireland's biggest drug dealers

Dutch Authorities said they had arrested four people in a house in Rotterdam yesterday. Detectives confirmed two men and two women, who were not from Holland, were held for questioning.

Officers said a quantity of illegal drugs and a firearm were seized. Gardaí believe one of the men arrested, who is in his 30s, is an Irishman and the leader of one of two feuding gangs in Dublin.

The man is also believed to be linked to the importation of the largest quantity of heroin in the history of the state valued at €11 million which was seized by gardaí earlier this week in Clondalkin.
