Man who seized de Valera dies

A man said to be Wales's oldest, Mr Griffith Williams, a former soldier who once arrested Eamon de Valera, has died, aged 108.

Mr Williams, of LLithfaen, north Wales, was the oldest surviving member of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. He arrested de Valera while serving with the regiment in Ireland during the first World War and spent a night guarding him in a cell.
