Man struck by lorry in Dublin

A stretch of Griffith Avenue in north Dublin remains closed after a pedestrian was struck by a lorry.

A stretch of Griffith Avenue in north Dublin remains closed after a pedestrian was struck by a lorry.

The incident occurred at the Marino end of Griffith Avenue near the Malahide Road.

The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was struck by the lorry at about 1pm.

The emergency services are attending the scene.

A Garda spokesman said Griffith Avenue was closed between the Malahide Road and Phillipsburgh junctions and that diversions are in place.
