A man who stole a valuable violin from the Royal Irish Academy of Music has been remanded for sentence by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Michael Walsh (47), with addresses at York Street and Rory O'Connor House, Hardwicke Street, Dublin, pleaded guilty to stealing the Thomas Kennedy 1850 violin and two bows, to a total value of £10,500, on May 3rd, 1997.

Judge Cyril Kelly was told the violin was recovered by gardai. He remanded Walsh for sentence on April 28th next.
