A man (39) is recovering in hospital today after he was shot in an apparent punishment shooting in Co Donegal last night.
The incident happened at a house in St Johnston between 10pm and 10.30pm.
It is believed that at least two armed and masked males entered the house at Legnatraw and shot the man in his arms and legs.
He was taken to Letterkenny General hospital where his condition is described as not life-threatening.
A woman (34) who was in the house at the time of the shooting was uninjured.
The victim is believed to have been from the North but had been living in Co Donegal for a number of months.
A silver 4x4 was located at Moness, about 2km from the scene of the shooting shortly after the incident. The vehicle has been preserved for technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses or anyone who may have information or may have seen unusual activity around the the vicinity of Legnatraw or around Moness where the 4x4 was located to contact them in at Letterkenny Garda station on 074-9167100
