Man killed in Co Meath collision

An 83-year old man died when his car was in collision with another in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath yesterday.

An 83-year old man died when his car was in collision with another in Dunshaughlin, Co Meath yesterday.

The man who was seriously injured in the collision was taken to Blanchardstown hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A man and woman in their early 30s who were in the second car were also taken to Blanchardstown hospital but were later released.

The crash happened on the Dublin side of the village on the old Dublin to Dunshuaghlin Road at about 12.20pm.

The road which was closed for some time to facilitate a forensic collision examination has now been reopened.
