A man was jailed for nine months, fined £350 and disqualified from driving for 30 years by Judge Sean Delap at Swords District Court. John Shelly, of Forest Dale, River Valley, Swords, Co Dublin, pleaded guilty to being drunk in charge of a car at Swords bypass on May 20th last and to having no insurance or driving licence. Garda David Nolan said that Shelly had 16 previous convictions and had already been disqualified for 25 years.
