A 19-year-old man will appear before Arklow District Court tomorrow morning charged in relation to the death of John Deasy last November.

Arklow shopkeeper John Deasy (44) was stabbed to death when he confronted a man who demanded money from an assistant at Brauders shop shortly after 8pm on November 25th.

Gardaí said a man entered the shop with the intention of robbing it.

Mr Deasy, who owned the shop, heard a commotion and came downstairs. He received a stab wound in the ensuing tussle.

The raider escaped with a sum of cash, believed to be hundreds of euro.
