A man is due to appear before Dublin District Court tomorrow morning in connection with the killing of Adrian Bestea, the Romanian whose body was found in a suitcase in the Royal Canal in Dublin last July.
The man is the second to be charged in relation to the killing of Mr Bestea.
He was charged last night with an assault causing harm under the Non-Fatal Offences Act.
The man, who is a Latvian in his 30s, was arrested on the North Circular Road in Dublin at 5 a.m. yesterday.
He is being held in Mountjoy Garda Station.
Last Thursday, a 28-year-old Ukrainian, Igor Derjak, appeared in court charged with an assault in connection with the killing.
He was remanded in custody after Gardaí objected to a bail application.
