Man dies in amusement park accident in Tramore

A 22-year-old man died when he was struck by a train at an amusement park in Tramore Co Waterford last night.

A 22-year-old man died when he was struck by a train at an amusement park in Tramore Co Waterford last night.

The man received fatal injuries when he fell and was struck by the Ghost Train ride in the Amusement Park in Tramore.

Gardai named the man as Gavin Mason, from Kilmore Close, Artane in Dublin 5.

He was believed to have been on holiday in the Co Waterford region when the incident occurred. He was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where he died a short time later. Both Gardai from Tramore Station and the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) are investigating.
