A MAN appeared before the Dublin District Court yesterday charged with falsely imprisoning Mr Mark Dwyer at Scribblestown last Saturday.
Mr Scott Delaney (22), of Palmerstown Park, Dublin, is charged with falsely imprisoning Mr Dwyer against his will at Foster Terrace, Ballybough.
Det Sgt McDonald, of Fitzgibbon Street Garda station, said he was objecting to bail being granted as "this is a very serious case where a man was kidnapped and later murdered Det Sgt McDonald told the court he arrested and charged Mr Delaney on Thursday night. He made no reply to the charge when cautioned.
The officer said he believed that if granted bail, Mr Delaney would not stand trial for the charge.
Judge William Hamill remanded Mr Delaney in custody without bail to appear before the court on Monday next.
