A man has been charged at Limerick District Court this evening in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Seamus O'Toole in the city on Tuesday night.

Mr Brian Collins, in his early forties, was charged with the murder of O'Toole at or around Catherine Place in the city centre on September 24th.

O'Toole, from Emly Rd, Hospital, in Co Limerick was found with multiple stab wounds in a doorway in the Catherine's Place area of the city centre at midnight on the 24th.

Mr Collins responded "no" when charged in court. He was remanded to appear before the court again on October 3rd.

Mr Collins was questioned earlier at Roxboro Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
