A 30-year-old man was shot dead in south west Dublin this evening.
The man was shot as he stood on the footpath and his body remains at the scene.
Gardaí from Crumlin are investigating the shooting on Bunting Road, Walkinstown which happened shortly before 7pm.
The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
Further details have yet to emerge.
