Members of the Apprentice Boys of Derry are expected to attend a meeting of the city's Civic Forum on Wednesday, giving rise to hope that a model could be developed which could help solve disputes over parades.

The Civic Forum was set up after street disturbances following last August's Apprentice Boys parade. It aimed to encourage dialogue between the Bogside Residents' Group, the Apprentice Boys and business and church leaders. However, it was boycotted by unionist representatives and the Apprentice Boys, whose parade takes place on August 8th.
