Light rail building may begin in 2000

Construction on a light railway between Tallaght and Abbey Street, Dublin, could begin early next year, according to the Minister for Public Enterprise, Ms O'Rourke. She said she has accepted the conditions proposed by the inspector, Judge Sean O'Leary, in his report on the public inquiry into the application by CIE for a Light Railway Order in respect of the new line.
