Leo Blair, eyes tightly shut, made his first public appearance yesterday in an official photograph while his father Tony, Britain's Prime Minister, cancelled all his public engagements to stay by his side and that of his wife, Cherie.
The picture was taken on Sunday, the day after Leo's birth, by Mary McCartney, photographer daughter of ex-Beatle Paul.
Mr Blair has cleared his desk of all public events this week, planning only to keep his weekly session with Queen Elizabeth next Tuesday, his spokesman said. The Prime Minister would of course be available for consultation on issues such as Northern Ireland, the spokesman said.
