A search resumed today for an 80-year-old Belfast man who went missing in Co Kerry on Friday after attending a funeral.

A search resumed today for an 80-year-old Belfast man who went missing in Co Kerry on Friday after attending a funeral.

Tony Crickard of Norfolk Parade, Belfast, had attended the funeral of his 20-year-old grandnephew, from Ballyduff in north Kerry, who died in a road collision near Causeway last Monday morning.

It is understood Mr Crickard was to spend a few days in Dingle after the funeral and attended St Mary's Church in Green Street at around 4pm. This was the last confirmed sighting of him.

A search-and-rescue helicopter along with volunteers, gardaí and the Dingle Coastguard unit have been involved in the search.

The search was focused on the Brandon Creek area of the Dingle peninsula yesterday after a reported sighting of a man fitting his description.
