A jury at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin yesterday failed to agree a verdict in the trial of a Wexford woman accused of impeding the investigation into the murder of a mother of two.

The body of Rebecca French (30) was discovered in the boot of a burning car on October 9th, 2009. She died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head. Helen Connors (25), Belvedere Grove, had denied the charge.

After deliberating over two days, the jurors told Mr Justice Garrett Sheehan they could not reach agreement. Earlier, he had directed they could return a majority verdict. Mr Justice Sheehan put the case in for mention on June 27th.
