Athletics: Former Olympic sprint queen Marion Jones will compete against world champion Lauryn Williams and silver-medallist Veronica Campbell over 100 metres in the New York grand prix on Saturday.

American Jones, who won three golds at the 2000 Olympics, was added to field by organisers today. She has won races in Mexico and the Netherlands following her return to the track after an 11-month absence.

The 30-year-old clocked 11.06 seconds in an altitude-assisted race last month near Veracruz, Mexico. Jones then dominated the field in Hengelo, the Netherlands last Sunday, winning in 11.16 seconds.

The races were her first since walking off the track at the US championships last June with a hip flexor injury.

Jones has been under investigation by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in connection with the Balco doping scandal but has never been charged.

She has repeatedly denied using performance-enhancing drugs and has never failed a dope test.

Jamaican Campbell, the Olympic 200 metres champion, has run the year's fastest time over 100 with 10.99 seconds.

Olympic 100 metres silver medallist Williams has a best this season of 11.18 seconds.
