Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian militant early today during a raid on his West Bank home.
Soldiers surrounded the house and called on the man - believed to be a member of the Hamas group - to surrender.
The man then opened fire at the troops and was killed in the ensuing gun battle, the army said.
An assault rifle and another gun were found in the home in Yatta village, not far from the West Bank city of Hebron, military officials said.
