The State's GDP grew by almost 7 per cent in the third quarter of 2002 compared with the same period the previous year, the Central Statistics Office reported today.

A significant part of this output was produced by foreign-owned enterprises, the profits of which accrued to non-residents. These profits are excluded from GNP, which fell by 0.3 per cent in the third quarter of 2002.

GDP was at €23,398 million, up 6.9 per cent on the same period last yearj; Gross National Product was at €18,025 million for the same period.
