The trial of a German businessman accused of sexual abusing a 6-year-old Irish girl in Ireland in 1985 and recording the abuse on videotape began in Germany today.
The court in the city of Ulm, heard how Dr Andreas Lewicki (68) started a business Lewicki Microelectronics in Tullamore in 1997.
The alleged victim, who is now 23 and attended the hearing, was sexually assaulted in a Dublin hotel on May 16th 1985 in an episode that was filmed by Dr Lewicki.
A second incidence of abuse followed roughly one month later.
