Two men die in road crashes in Donegal and Cork

41-year-old motorcyclist and 19-year-old passenger in car die in separate road crashes

Two men have been killed in road crashes in counties Donegal and Cork.

Gardaí in Buncrana are investigating a crash in which a 19-year-old man died when the car he was travelling in left the road at Tooban in Burnfoot.

The crash happened at about 4.30am on Sunday morning.

The 19-year-old male driver and a female passenger, also 19, were taken to Letterkenny General Hospital where the woman is said to be in a serious condition.

The scene has been preserved and Garda forensic collision investigators are at the scene. Diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnessess or anyone who was travelling on the main Buncrana to Derry Road, or in the vicinity of Tooban to contact them at Buncrana Garda Station on 074 - 9320540, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.

A 41-year-old man was killed in Ballinrush, Kilworth, Co Cork on Saturday afternoon when his motorbike was involved in a crash with a car.

The crash happened at 4pm on Saturday. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Cork University Hospital. The occupants of the car were uninjured.

Garda forensic collision investigators have completed their examination of the scene.
