Man in his 20s assaulted in attempted carjacking in Dun Laoghaire

A man in his 20s was assaulted during a carjacking incident in Dun Laoghaire on Friday.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after the incident which occurred at the west pier carpark at approximately 5.30pm.

The man managed to retrieve the keys from his car while those involved fled the scene on foot.

A man in his mid-20s was arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released without charge pending further enquires.
