The seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production was up 7.4 per cent for the three month period February 2002 to April 2002, according to figures released by the Central Statistics Office this morning.
Provisional figures for Production in April 2002 was 3.3 per cent lower than in April 2001. The year-on-year increase for March 2002 was 15.4 per cent.
The final detailed April data will be published along with the provisional detailed May 2002 data.
The unadjusted figures for February 2002 to April 2002, when compared with the same three-month period a year earlier the figures show:
- Production increases of 13.4 per cent and 10.7 per cent were recorded for intermediate products and consumer goods respectively.
- A decrease of 26.0 per cent was recorded for capital goods.
- Basic chemicals' production rose by 25.2 per cent in the period.
