The Point Theatre's Phantom of the Opera show was disrupted last night after the actress playing the leading female role fell ill and collapsed on stage.

The illness to US actress and dancer Ms Colleen Taylor, who was understudy for the part of Christine Daae, caused the production to be halted for 40 minutes. A second understudy, Ms Catriona Murphy, was unavailable to take over because of illness. However, the leading actress in the role, Ms Zoe Curlett, who had been resting in a nearby hotel, was rushed to the theatre to complete the performance.
