Officials at Huntingdon have been forced to abandon this afternoon's jumps meeting due snow and frost.

Clerk of the course Michael Prosser said: "Temperatures have dropped significantly over the last hour or so and it's minus three at the moment with a centimetre snow on the track.

"It's very frustrating, because initially the frost hadn't had a chance to get in. But since the temperature has dropped that situation is changing fairly swiftly.

"Daytime temperatures are due to hover around zero all day and the fact is it isn't going to thaw."
