Ken Hogan was tonight named as the new Tipperary senior hurling manager on a two-year deal.

The Lorrha clubman - a former star goalkeeper with the county - succeeds Michael Doyle who resigned in September.

Hogan had served as a Tipperary selector with two previous managers, Fr Tom Fogarty and Nicky English.

Jack Bergin - believed to have been a one time contender for the managers job - (Moycarkey-Borris) and Colm Bonnar (Dunhill, Waterford) have been confirmed as Hogan's selectors. Bonnar will also act as Tipperary team trainer.
