Carve out time for calm

Life can get pretty hectic sometimes. But no matter how much is on your to-do list it’s important to take time out to recharge. Few of us have the time or money to zip off to a retreat or spa at the drop of a hat, but with a little forethought you can carve out your own moments of calm each day.

Set aside even a few minutes that could mean getting up a little earlier than usual and find a quiet place. Sit or lie comfortably, focus on your breathing, slow your thoughts and include a spot of meditation if it helps.

If you are unsure how to start, have a look online for apps that can guide you through a relaxation session or even just play soothing music. Taking time out every day could make that to-do list even more do-able.
