A widow yesterday expressed satisfaction after a jury found a young farmer guilty of dangerous driving, causing the death of her husband, after hearing how the farmer's tractor had driven up on to the couple's car and killed him.

Ms Amelia Foley said she was satisfied that the jury had believed her evidence about how her husband, Peter, was killed. O'Connell (21) had denied the charge of dangerous driving, causing the death of Mr Foley (66), at Knockananig, Fermoy, on August 7th, 1998. Judge Patrick Moran adjourned sentence on O'Connell until November 18th and allowed him remain on continuing bail.
