A coalition of Irish peace and justice groups has been formed to campaign against a military response to last week's terrorist attacks in the US, reports Joe Humphreys.
The NGO Peace Alliance, comprising 11 agencies, said it was aware of the enormous trauma and suffering which resulted from the attacks but said "a military response will only exacerbate the situation and inflict similar suffering on other innocent people in other parts of the world."
In a statement yesterday, the group said the US should lift the threat of violence.
