LONDON - Anti-abortion groups and religious leaders yesterday criticised a British doctor's plans to launch the world's first high-profile fertility service allowing couples to choose the sex of their baby.

Dr Paul Rainsbury says his sex-selection service will offer couples the chance to visit a clinic in Naples, Italy, and undergo IVF, or test-tube baby, treatment to choose whether they want a son or a daughter.
