Gardai treating death of Sligo man as suspicious

Gardaí in Sligo have confirmed they are treating the death of a man whose body was found this morning as suspicious.

A member of the public made the discovery off Stephens Street in Sligo town shortly before 8.30 a.m.

A Garda spokesman said the body has been identified as that of a local man in his forties but could not confirm whether the man's family has been informed.

It is understood the State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, will deliver a post-mortem result later this afternoon.
