Preliminary post-mortem results released last night indicated that the man died from a stab wound received during an attack in Drogheda in the early hours of last Tuesday.

The 25-year-old victim has been named as Clint Wall, with an address at Marsh road, Drogheda. He was originally from Shankill, Co Dublin.

Mr Wall was found lying by the roadside at Marsh Road at 3.30 a.m. on Tuesday. He was bleeding heavily. The victim was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in the town. He underwent surgery but had suffered significant blood loss and internal injuries. He died at the hospital at 11 a.m. yesterday.

The State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy completed a preliminary post-mortem, with the results indicating the cause of death was a stab wound.

Mr Wall is believed to have been involved in a fight with another man on Tuesday. A knife was recovered at the scene. It is understood there were a number of witnesses to the altercation.

Meanwhile, three men have been questioned by gardaí in Dublin in connection with the death of a man whose body was found at a flat in Inchicore almost two weeks ago.

The remains of Sean Twomey (42) were found on February 24th in his flat on Tyrconnell Road. The father of two, who was originally from Swords, Co Dublin, had been seriously assaulted.

Three men in their 30s were arrested under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. Two were detained at Kilmainham Garda station and were released yesterday without charge. The third man was detained at Kevin St Garda station. He was also released without charge. A file is being prepared for the DPP.
