Gaelic Games:The Central Council of the GAA have given the green light to the use of Hawk-Eye goal-line technology on a pilot basis for all football and hurling championship games played at Croke Park.

The two-year period will start next year, after which a full review will be conducted, with the proposal subject to approval at Congress.

Central Council have also decided that next year’s National Hurling League will consist of six groups of six teams, with the final standings of this year’s NHL being used to finalise the make-up of the divisions.

Each side will play each other once, with the top two teams in each division contesting a final to decide the champion. From Division 1B down, the winners of the final will be promoted.
