A Gaelic football club which failed to specify its clubhouse as the venue for a Joe Dolan concert was fined £100 for a breach of the Intoxicating Liquor Act 1988 at yesterday's sitting of Carlow District Court.

An advertisement appeared in the Carlow Nationalist on Friday, October 13th last. It carried a photograph of singer Joe Dolan, hearing the caption "Joe Dolan appearing in Ballinabranna, Co Carlow, on Thursday, 19th October." The advert did not specify a venue.

At yesterday's court sitting, Baile na mBrannach CLCG, Ballinabranna, Clogrennane, Carlow, was charged with a breach of Section 45 of the Intoxicating Liquor Act 1988.

A similar summons against Mr Thomas O'Keeffe, club secretary, was dismissed.
