The Fruit of the Loom plant in Buncrana, Co Donegal, is to close a year earlier than expected, it was announced today.

The Fruit of the Loom plant in Buncrana, Co Donegal, is to close a year earlier than expected, it was announced today.

Fruit of the Loom, which once employed over 3,000 people in Donegal, announced last September it was closing down its Irish operation and moving all production to Morocco.

The company employs 380 people in the Buncrana plant and 250 in Derry.
