Paris - France and Germany will stage a joint commemorative ceremony after all to mark the end of the first World War, but Germany has yet to say who will represent it at the proceedings, French officials said yesterday. A senior French official caused a flurry on Wednesday when he said the Chancellor-elect, Mr Gerhard Schroder had opted his country and himself out of high-profile Armistice Day ceremonies, saying Germany should now turn to the future and not the past.
