Fine Gael is undertaking a study on the quality of services available to children with special needs in the education system

Fine Gael is undertaking a study on the quality of services available to children with special needs in the education system. The party said the survey would "tap into the experience of parents and teachers to help develop policy".

Fine Gael's spokesman on Education, Mr Richard Bruton, said it was "alarming that the Department of Education does not even know how many children have special needs".
