The West of Ireland branch of the National Union of Journalists has sent a letter of protest to the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Mr O'Donoghue, arising out of an incident during evictions at an unofficial traveller encampment in Galway on Thursday.
Rolls of film were confiscated by gardaI from a local photographer, Mr Andrew Downes of Green Graph photo agency, at the Hillside encampment during scuffles when a private security firm tried to evict three families.
