Eight people were taken to hospital after a fire at Magilligan Prison in Co Derry last night. It is understood four prisoners and four prison officers were injured in the blaze. Coleraine Hospital has confirmed that it is treating two people but their condition is not known. It is believed that the other people were taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry. It is not known how the fire started but it was quickly brought under control. The wing in which the blaze began has been sealed off for forensic examination
