A website designed to demonstrate to children the relevance and fascination of physics has been set up by the department of physics at Trinity College Dublin. Concentrating on areas of current interest it links to stimulating educational sites around the world. It will look at areas such as galaxies, stars and light and interact with students by helping them discover how radioactive they are and showing how to work out the connections between Newton's laws of motion and Ken Doherty playing snooker. The site (www.tcd.ie/ Physics/Schools) will, it is hoped, "help counter the negative image of physics which exists among some pupils".
