TDC open day:

TCD will hold its annual open day on Wednesday, December 16th. More information is available on the admissions page of its web site address at http://www.tcd.ie The faculties of arts (humanities); arts (letters); business, economic & social studies; engineering and systems sciences; health sciences and science will hold talks for students throughout the day.

Open days:

St Catherine's College of Education for Home Economics, Sion Hill, Blackrock, Co Dublin, will have its open day tomorrow, while Sion Hill's Froebel College of Education will hold its open day on Thursday.

CAO deadline

The closing date for applications of non EU-nationals to the CAO is Tuesday next, December 15th.

Concern web

Concern Worldwide has launched a website at www.concern.ie with over 300 web pages of information. These include an interactive school debates section.

Food fair

The current LCVP class of St Mary's Secondary School in Mallow, Co Cork, has organised a major food fair in conjunction with Bord Bia to raise funds for a new school. The event will take place in Mallow tomorrow in the Hibernian Hotel. The class has organised the food fair with a view to developing itsentrepreneurial skills as well as raising funds.

Concert

On Saturday, December 19th, a fund-raising concert will be held in St Anne's Church, Dawson Street, Dublin. Starting at 7 p.m., it will feature carols and solo pieces. The concert, by the Young European Strings School of Music for Gifted Children, will raise funds to support talented students unable to meet tuition costs.

The concert is the first in a winter series to mark the school founding 10 years ago.
