Scealta o Theach na mBocht, a translation into Irish of Eugene McCabe's Tales from the Poorhouse, opens tonight at Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe. The work of Liam Mac Con Iomaire it deals with the hardships endured during the Famine through the eyes of four characters: the orphan, the master, the landlord and the mother. Prepared and directed by Darach Mac Con Iomaire, the play runs nightly at 8 p.m. until Sunday. Telephone (091) 563600.
