WITH THE increasingly litigious climate, a short course entitled The School and the Law may be of interest to teachers, principals and, boards of management. It will refer in some, detail to recent case law involving negligence claims against schools.

The requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 1989 as it applies to schools will be covered.

The course organiser, Declan d'Estelle Roe, was a teacher and is currently an apprentice solicitor. The course will be held in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, for five consecutive Tuesday nights, starting April 30th.
