More than 100 tall ships are due to arrive in Dublin for the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Races next month. A programme of entertainment has been arranged for the four-day event.

More than £1 million is being invested for the visit of the ships. The entertainment, which includes rock and jazz bands and street theatre, begins on Saturday, August 22nd, and centres on Dublin's quaysides. The public will be able to visit the ships.

On Sunday, August 23rd, 3,500 international crew members will form a parade, starting from the quays and proceeding to Dublin Castle for a prize-giving ceremony hosted by the President, Mrs McAleese.
