GARDAI in Cork seized hundreds of ecstasy tablets and fake firearms at the weekend. The seizure occurred after gardai at Anglesea Street station got information about the movement of drugs.
Following the tip off, gardai in Charleville discovered the tablets and fake firearms hidden in a ditch near the town. Cork gardai said they had received information that a drugs gang was planning to travel to Charleville and deal drugs. Following surveillance, gardai swooped on the makeshift hiding place a half mile outside the town and recovered the drugs. No arrests were made.
