France’s Youri Djorkaeff today described his move to Bolton as "imminent".
The World Cup and European Championship winner, out of favour at German club Kaiserslautern, is looking to revive his fading hopes of making Roger Lemerre's World Cup squad.
Kaiserslautern said in a statement yesterday Bolton had submitted an offer for the player but claimed no decision had been made on the player.
"I am organising this press conference at 3.30 p.m. (2.30 p.m. Irish time) to announce my imminent departure for Bolton," Djorkaeff told www.lequipe.fr. "I also wish to say goodbye to the club, and if necessary to clear up things about my situation.
"If the club does not fulfil its commitments, I will force them to let me go by making declarations which could bring a lot of bad things for the club," Djorkaeff said.
"The coach Andreas Brehme and president Friedrich Jurgen and myself agreed eight days ago that if I found a club they would let me go for zero euros.
"It's been a month now that I have been sidelined for reasons other than sporting ones. I am fed up with waiting and want to announce by departure with all my heart and I hope not to be pushed into doing something else," the player said.
Kaiserslautern have not confirmed there will be a press conference today.
