French Open:Rising star Novak Djokovic produced a dominant display against Igor Andreev to reach the last four of the French Open.
The 20-year-old moved into his first Grand Slam semi-final courtesy of a 6-3 6-3 6-3 win with a performance which suggested he may yet be able to challenge Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer for the title in Paris.
Andreev actually started the better of the two players, breaking the Djokovic serve in the opening game with his big forehand causing his opponent problems.
Sadly for him it was prove his only break of the entire match.
Djokovic hit back immediately and as the games ticked by began to get to grips with Andreev's game.
As the errors crept into the Russian's play, Djokovic pounced and another break of serve in the eighth game proved decisive.
Andreev made an awful start to the second set, being broken in the first game as he fell 2-0 down.
The world number 125 managed to snap a run of five consecutive games against him, but the damage had already been done.
Djokovic was generally holding serve easily by now and when a rare break-point chance was created in game six, the Serb stood firm.
Andreev had no answers to Djokovic's shot-making and court coverage and again lost five games in a row as he lost the second set and fell 3-0 down in the third.
There was to be no way back from that position and Djokovic easily served out to set up a last-four meeting with either defending champion Nadal or Carlos Moya.
