Swansea notched their first Celtic League success of the season as four tries sent Ulster to defeat at St Helen's today.

Scott Gibbs, Kevin Morgan, Matthew Robinson and Shaun Payne touched down to secure the Whites a win with a bonus point.

But Morgan left the field on a stretcher in the 49th minute after suffering an injury to his right leg.

There was also an 18-point contribution from Arwel Thomas, made up of four penalties and three conversions.

Ulster were a disappointment. They started brightly, taking a 10-3 lead midway through the first half.

Tyrone Howe profited from some weak home tackling to claim a try, while David Humphreys knocked over a conversion and a penalty. But the visitors had little more to offer.

They lost their way as Swansea surged clear once skipper Gibbs powered through for the try in the 33rd minute.

Man of the match Morgan sped over from 60metres to help his team into a 21-10 interval lead.

Then Robinson and Payne stepped on the gas to post long-range efforts that settled the game as a contest.

But much of the play on both sides was disjointed, despite the perfect conditions.
